Top 10 MET GALA Looks (in my opinion) and a few not-so honorable mentions

Hi guyysss, I'm back again and today and I'll be talking about the MET gala lookssss.

First things first, I've noticed some people don't understand what the theme "Gilded Glamour" means, soooo, we'll be looking into that first with pictures and just a teeny explanation.

Gilded glamour basically refers to America's gilded age (the period of rapid industrialization) according to GQ. It is a concept that leaves plenty room for interpretation and pulls inspiration from New York's gilded age when excess and grandiosity defined both the decades and the fashion, says Vanity fair. This means that the attendees were supposed to draw inspiration from the time period of 1870 to 1890 (and y'all know they didn't relent). The era basically consisted of gloves, corsets, lace, ruffles, you know what? think Bridgerton with less puffy sleeves and more over the top bows.

Now, let's get right into it;

1. Blake Lively in Atelier Versace: after contemplating a bit about whether to give Alicia Keys or Blake Lively number one; I've decided and Lively definitely deserves this spot becauseeee, I mean not only did she take the industrialization into consideration, she did it in such a wonderful and creative way, tucking the turquoise part of the train was genius.

2. Alicia Keys in Ralph Lauren

I love love loveee Alicia Keys' dress a lot especially since I'm really big on simplicity, her dress was simple yet made statement. It screamed New York, maybe not in the front, but definitely at the back.

3. Billie EiIlish in Gucci: SHE UNDERSTOOD THE ASSIGNMENT.

4.Bella and Gigi Hadid in Burberry and Atelier Versace (respectively): I personally could not get enough of both their looks, Bella dressed like a 19th century vixen and Gigi dressed in that beautiful custom puffer coat which like Versace posted on their instagram is " a modern interpretation of coats from the late 1800s"

5. Cara DeLevingne: she took the gilded glamour seriously and showed up topless and painted in gold. Stunning!

6. Janelle Monae in Ralph Lauren: her "gilded glamour from the future" is everything, I don't care what you thinkk

7. Camila Mendes in Alexandre Mattiussi: This happens to be Camila's first MET gala and her dress is also Alexandre Mattiussi's first couture dress and can I just say that they KILLED it!

8. Joe Jonas in Louis Vuitton: YES!

9. Karlie Kloss in Givenchy: I don't need to say anything, just look at her.

10. Shawn Mendes in Tommy Hilfiger

Now, there's a few people who I believe dressed awesomely but I didn't add to my list and they are; Chloe Moretz, Lizzo, Vanessa hudgens, Nicki Minaj, Madeline Petsch and Laura Harrier.

My not-so honorable mentions go to Emily Ratajkowski and Future: I don't know how but Ratajkowski managed to completely and absolutely miss the theme and I don't know what Future thought he did, all I know is it didn't do/give what he thought he was doing/giving.

Tell me what you think about this list and also tell me your favorite looks from the 2022 MET Gala.

Byeee x.

In my opinion Gigi’s fit wasn’t themed ,you could have replaced her with Sza ,then Camila’s dress was not all that better replacement will be Katy Perry’s dress

I really liked Gigi’s fit and I think she drew inspiration from the gilded age era and kinda made it different. Camila’s dress in my opinion was quite nice. I was gonna add Katy perry and Sza to the list of people whose outfits I liked but I didn’t put on the list and forgot.
